Aerobatics flying

Aerobatics always fascinated me and I wanted to try it, but it must not be attempted on the ultralight planes, for several good reasons. So it took some time until I arranged a lesson on an aerobatics plane (Slingsby T67M Firefly) with a qualified instructor, and it was amazing indeed :-).

The basic aerobatic maneuvers done at 0-4g were really fun, I had the controls and the instructor talked me through it, and it was not as hard as I was afraid, the response to control inputs and forces in the controls were not that different from an ultralight. However, I was quite surprized how more difficult the spin recovery from a fully developed spin on the Slingsby is, compared to a recovery from an incipient spin on Cessna 152.

Videos of my first aerobatics lesson are here: part 1 (skip the climbing flight at the beginning) and part 2.
